Drug Uses
Migraine headaches can be cured by drug “Sumatriptan”. It directly affects the blood vessels and the nerves which are causing migraine headaches.
How Taken
you can take 1 to 2 doses of Sumatriptan when migraine headaches occur. 200 mg is the maximum daily dose of Sumatriptan one can consume.
Missed dose
Sumatriptan should be taken only if you have migraine pain i.e. there is no chances of missing a dose and should are not supposed to take his drug in case you do not have trouble with Migraine.
Storage
The storage criteria is that do keep the product away from heat, moisture and light and make sure that the temperature of the place where you will keep the product must be around 77 °F (25 °C). Brief storage at temperatures between 68–77°F that means 20–25°C is permitted. Keep it out of reach of children.
More Information
Sumatriptan might cause dizziness and may be getting worse if you take it with alcohol or other medications. Do use Sumatriptan with caution. Never perform other unsafe tasks with this drug until and unless you are too sure of it. This is supposed to be consumed by one to whom it is prescribed. Never use this medicine for other health problems. If your symptom is getting worse, contact your doctor immediately.
Warnings/Precautions
If you are allergic to Sumatriptan, Raynaud syndrome, have had strokes in the past, certain types of heart disease, transient ischemic attacks, uncontrolled blood pressure, and peripheral vascular disease do not consumes this. Consult your doctor before taking Sumatriptan if you smoke, have high cholesterol or high blood pressure and diabetes. Let your doctor know if you are taking any headache medication, ergotamine or MAO inhibitors such as linezolid, furazolidone, tranylcypromine, phenelzine, or selegiline. Never take Sumatriptan if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breast feeding the baby without doctor’s approval. It is not been declared yet if Sumatriptan can cause harm to the fetus. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Sumatriptan while you are pregnant. Sumatriptan is found in breast milk. Sumatriptan should not be used in children younger than 18 years old because safety has not been confirmed yet. Never use more than 2 doses in a day or treat more than 4 headaches within a month without being checked by your doctor.
