Drug Uses
High blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, and sudden death like serious things can be treated by using Ramipril which is an angiotensin (converting enzyme inhibitor),decreasing the risk of heart attack in patients. This drug may also be used to treat congestive heart disease following a heart attack or for other problems as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Ramipril drug could be taken with or without a meal. If you are getting problems in swallowing the whole tablet, it can be opened and the contents can be sprinkled on a small amount of applesauce or mixed with half a glass of water or could be consumed with apple juice. The mixture may be stored in the refrigerator for around 48 hours. The best thing would be you do not store and consume it immediately. It is best to consult your doctor regarding the appropriate dosage for you.
Missed Dose
If somehow you missed the dose, then immediately take that dose after you remember. However if you get to the nearby time for next dose, skip taking the Missed Dose and continue with your dose taking schedule. Do remember that you never exceed the intake of dose to compensate you missed dosage previously.
Storage
The storage criteria is that do keep the product away from heat, moisture and light and make sure that the temperature of the place where you will keep the product must be between 59 to 86 °F that means 15 to 30 °C. Keep it out of reach of children.

You might become allergenic to sunlight after using Ramipril. Avoid sunlight, sunlamps, or tanning booths until and unless know how you react to Ramipril. Remember that you use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you have to be outside for prolonged time. Never share this medicine with others for whom it was not prescribed by the doctor. Never use this medicine for any other health complications. Contact your doctor if your symptoms are getting worse. As mentioned earlier, Ramipril may cause dizziness or lightheadedness and may be even worse if Ramipril is consumed with alcohol. Do remember to use Ramipril with caution. Never perform any kind of possible unsafe tasks until and unless you are very sure.
Warnings/Precautions
Consult your doctor if you have any medical complications before taking Ramipril, especially if you are allergic to medicines, foods, or other substances or are allergic to any component in Ramipril, or if you have a history of angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), if you have heart or blood vessel problems, liver problems, or kidney problems, if you have inappropriate blood potassium levels or are on a low sodium diet, if you have a severe autoimmune disease, lupus, scleroderma which is a skin disease, or bone marrow depression, if you are planning to have surgery in future, if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or are breast–feeding the baby. Never take Ramipril after the third month of pregnancy because it might cause complications or death to the fetus and must contact your doctor immediately in such situation. It is unknown if Ramipril is found in breast milk or not. Some medicines may have an interaction with Ramipril drug. Thus, discuss with your doctor of all the prescriptions or non-prescriptions medicines, herbals, or diet supplement that you have been taking. Recovery is rapid when the medicine is stopped. Contact your doctor at once in case of following issues:-Dehydration, excessive sweating, or diarrhea, low blood pressure, lightheadedness, fainting. Patients who take medicine for high blood pressure often feel tired or run down for a few weeks after starting treatment. Make sure that you take your medicine even if you may not feel normal. Discuss with your doctor before you use a salt substitute or a product that has potassium in it. Make sure that you keep all doctor and lab appointments ready. Ramipril should not be consumed by children because safety and effectiveness in children has not been confirmed yet.
