Drug Uses
Forzest is used for treating male impotence. Forzest is prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men over 18 years of age. It possesses a high effectiveness that works by increasing blood flow to the penis and causing erection satisfactory for the sexual intercourse. When a man is sexually stimulated, the penis fills up with blood under normal circumstances. When erectile dysfunction (Impotence) occurs, enough blood does not flow to cause an erection. Forzest relaxes the penile blood vessels when a man is sexually stimulated. This allows blood flow into the penis, resulting in an erection. The erection subsides after sex, just as it is supposed to in normal conditions. Forzest is effective, safe and easy in use.
How Taken
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. You may take this medicine with or without meals. The dose is usually taken 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. You should not take this dose more than once per day. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Take one Forzest tablet before you expect to have sexual activity. You may be able to have sexual activity at 30 minutes after taking Forzest and up to 36 hours after taking it. You and your Doctor should consider this in deciding when you should take Forzest before sexual activity. Some form of sexual stimulation is needed for an erection to happen with Forzest.
Missed Dose
Do not take Forzest more than one time in a day. As Forzest is taken when needed, you are not likely to miss a dose. Some form of sexual stimulation is needed for an erection to happen with Forzest.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date. The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured. Keep out of the reach of children.
More Information
Never exceed a dose of 20mg Forzest in any 24 hour period without consulting your doctor. Doctor may lower or raise your dose depending on how your body reacts to Forzest. Do not drink alcohol in excess quantity while taking Forzest as it can increase your chances of getting a headache or may cause dizziness, increasing your heart rate, or lowering your blood pressure.
Warnings/Precautions
This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others. Do not take this medicine with any of the following nitrate medications like amyl nitrite, isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate, and nitroglycerin. This drug may also interact with certain drugs for high blood pressure, certain drugs for the treatment of HIV infection or AIDS, certain drugs used for fungal or yeast infections, like fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, and voriconazole, certain drugs used for seizures like carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital grapefruit juice, macrolide antibiotics like clarithromycin, erythromycin, troleandomycin medicines for prostate problems, rifabutin, rifampin or rifapentine. Do not drink alcohol to excess when taking this medicine. When taken in excess, alcohol can increase your chances of getting a headache or getting dizzy, increasing your heart rate or lowering your blood pressure. If you notice any changes in your vision while taking this drug, call your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible. Stop using this medicine and call your health care provider right away if you have a loss of sight in one or both eyes. Contact you doctor or health care professional right away if the erection lasts longer than 4 hours or if it becomes painful. This may be a sign of serious problem and must be treated right away to prevent permanent damage. If you experience symptoms of nausea, dizziness, chest pain or arm pain upon initiation of sexual activity after taking this medicine, you should refrain from further activity and call your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible.
