Drug Uses
Pepcid is formulated for the treatment and prevention of ulcers and heartburn caused due to acid indigestion and sour stomach. The product is also used for curing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which basically refers to condition during which acid secretion, and esophagitis is increased. The product may also be used for other in various conditions as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Pepcid is consumed with a glass of water as prescribed by your Physician. Pepcid can be taken with or without a meal. It is usually instructed to consume Pepcid at least after 2hrs before or after consuming cephalosporins (eg, cephalexin), itraconazole, or ketoconazole. Consult your Doctor before consuming Pepcid with antacids (acid reducers).
Missed Dose
If somehow you missed the dose, then immediately take that dose after you remember. However if you get to the nearby time for next dose, skip taking the Missed Dose and continue with your dose taking schedule. Do remember that you never exceed the intake of dose to compensate you missed dosage previously.
Storage
Pepcid is stored at 77 °F (25 °C), brief storage at 59 – 86 °F (15 – 30 °C) is permitted. It is advised to store Pepcid away from moisture, light and heat. Keep it away from the reach of children’s.

Pepcid may cause dizziness. These effects may even get worse if Pepcid is consumed with alcohol or other possible medications. Warning and Precaution

Inform your doctor if you have any symptoms of a bleeding ulcer, such as black, tarry stools or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. If pain continues or you need to take Pepcid for more than 14 days for heartburn symptoms, stop use and consult your doctor immediately. You may need to make significant diet and lifestyle changes to help treat and prevent ulcers and other digestive problems, including stress–reduction programs, exercise, and diet changes. Lab tests may be performed to monitor your progress. Visit your doctor for routine and regular checkups. .Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of this drug so, they need to more cautious.
