Drug Uses
Asthma can be prevented by taking Montelukast drug and can also be used for relieving allergy symptoms. It may also be used for other complications as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Montelukast should be used as per the direction given by your doctor and could be taken with or without a meal. Continue taking Montelukast even if you feel well.
Missed Dose
If somehow you missed the dose, then immediately take that dose after you remember. However if you get to the nearby time for next dose, skip taking the Missed Dose and continue with your dose taking schedule. Do remember that you never exceed the intake of dose to compensate you missed dosage previously.
Storage
The storage criteria is that do keep the product away from heat, moisture and light and make sure that the temperature of the place where you will keep the product must be at room temperature around 77 °F that means 25 °C. Brief storage at temperatures between 59 – 86 °F that means 15 – 30 °C is permitted. Make sure that children cannot get in touch with it.

Montelukast may cause drowsiness or dizziness and may even get more worse if Montelukast is taken with alcohol or some medicines. Remember that you use Montelukast with caution given on the package. Never perform any kind of unsafe tasks with this drug. Contact your doctor immediately if your symptoms are getting worse. Montelukast should only be used by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Never take less or more without being prescribed by your doctor.
Warnings/Precautions
Before taking Singulair, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances, if you are allergic to any ingredient in Singulair, if you have liver problems, if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breast–feeding. If you become pregnant, contact your doctor right away. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Singulair while you are pregnant. It is not known if Singulair is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast–feeding while you are using Singulair, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby. Some medicines may interact with Singulair. Therefore tell your doctor of all prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement that you are taking. Singulair will not stop an asthma attack once one has started. Be sure you always carry appropriate medicine (eg, bronchodilator inhalers) with you in case of an asthma attack. Contact your doctor promptly if your short–acting inhaler use increases or if use exceeds the 24–hour maximum prescribed by your doctor. Contact your doctor if your asthma worsens. Do not decrease your dose or stop using Singulair or other asthma medicines without first checking with your doctor. If your asthma is sensitive to aspirin or nonsteroidal anti–inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen), continue to avoid those medicines as directed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects
