Drug Uses
Clemastine is consumed for treating hay fever and allergies such as Sneezing, running nose and red itchy tearing eyes. This product is also used for getting relief from itching and swelling of hives. Also used for gaining control over symptoms of allergies and colds but do not treat the root cause of these symptoms neither it speeds up recovery. There is a class of medication named antihistamines of which Clemastine is a part off. The product blocks the action of histamine, which are responsible for causing allergic symptoms. This product is sometimes also prescribed for other diseases by your doctor.
How Taken
Clemastine comes in a tablet or liquid form to be consumed orally. Ideal dosage for the product is 2-3 times a day. Follow the dosage and instructions of the Doctor for consumption of Clemastine. Do not consume more or less or more often other than advised by your Doctor.
Missed Dose
The Medication is supposed to be taken as and when needed. In case your Doctor has advised you to take regularly, then take the missed dose as soon as remember it but if it is almost time for the next dose then skip that Missed Dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not consume double dose in any case to make up for a missed one.
Storage
It is advised to store the Medication in the container it came in, tightly sealed. Store the medication at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and light. Dispose off the medication that is outdated or expired. Keep it out of reach of children.

Warning and precautions
Let your doctor and pharmacist is informed in case you are allergic to Clemastine or any other antihistamines or any other medication or with any component present in Clemastine. Inform your doctor in case you are consuming monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam, Zelapar), and tranylcypromine (Parnate), as you may be advised not to consume Clemastine along with these. Do let your doctor know in case you have or had a past history of asthma or lung disease; glaucoma (a condition in which increased pressure in the eye can lead to gradual loss of vision); ulcers; difficulty urinating (due to an enlarged prostate gland); blockage in the passage between the stomach and intestine; blockage in the bladder; heart disease; high blood pressure; seizures; or an overactive thyroid gland. In case you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant or breast feeding or become pregnant while consuming Clemastine consult your doctor immediately. In case you are having any kind of surgery informs your doctor that you are consuming Clemastine. You may feel drowsy, dizziness so, you are advised not to drive car until and unless you are too sure how to react to this drug. Do not consume Clemastine with alcohol, as alcohol may make the side effects worse. Consult your doctor for safe use of alcohol while consuming Clemastine. Inform your Doctor about the other prescription and non prescription Medications you are consuming. Also about the products such as minerals, vitamins and other dietary supplements that you are consuming. Consult your Doctor Immediately in case of any issue with the drug.
